The Museum of the Walls

The museum is in Porta Appia (also known as Porta di San Sebastiano), and it is one of the biggest and best kept about the Aurelian Walls. It will lead you along a didactic itinerary through the history of Roman fortifications.

The museum takes the visitor on a journey that involves the history of the Walls, providing information about their construction and an analysis of their decorative elements.

The itinerary is divided into three sections: the ancient era, the medieval era and the modern era.
