Piazza della Rotonda is the beautiful square in front of the Pantheon.

There is a Renaissance fountain with an obelisk belonging to Rameses II on top of it in the centre of the square. Until 1847, despite the prohibitions imposed by the papal authorities, the square was used as a fish and vegetable market.

Today it is surrounded by restaurants and bars and it is a place where you can sit and admire one of the most suggestive monuments in Rome.
