Project Description
National museum of arts and popular traditions
The museum brings together objects that are a documentation of arts and popular traditions dating back to the Nineteenth century and the first half of the Twentieth century: there are pieces that were used in everyday life, working tools and also demonstrations of the religious side of people’s lives in pre-industrial times.
The museum also presents themes about Italian and foreign popular art and traditions, alongside a lot of contemporary art by different authors, whose works are realized with methods and materials that are still linked to tradition.
The museum is organized according to these themes: earth and its resources, living and dwelling, rites, feasts and ceremonies.
