There are many WiFi hotspots in airports, hotels, train stations, restaurants or pubs and on some public transport.

WiFi hotspots are recognizable thanks to the logo of the facility and in Rome the most common are:

romawireless (it covers the historical villas and some places in the centre)
DigitRoma (it covers public places)
WiFi Station (it covers Roma Termini, Roma Tiburtina, Roma Ostiense, Roma Trastevere, Roma S.Pietro and Fiumicino Airport railway station)
Atac WiFi (it covers trams and bus stops)
