Project Description

Castel Sant’Angelo

Castel Sant’Angelo was built in 123 A.D. as a sepulchre for Emperor Hadrian and his family.

During the years, the castle had to deal with an uninterrupted series of changes and transformation, as it went from being a funerary monument to a fortified avampost, or from a dark and terrible prison to a splendid Renaissance home (with the contribution of Michelangelo), or again, from a Risorgimento prison to a museum.

The notoriety of Castel Sant’Angelo is still widespread all over the world since it was used as a secret refuge for the Illuminati in the final step of the book ‘Angels and Demons’ by Dan Brown.
