The harbours

The Port Authority is at the centre of the logistic system which connects Rome to the rest of Europe and of the Mediterranean, thanks to the network of Ports of Rome and of Lazio, which comprises Civitavecchia, Fiumicino and Gaeta.

The Tourist Port of Rome is in Ostia and was designed in favour of the lovers of pleasure boats and tourists from all over the world. The port also hosts shops and commercial activities.

The Tourist Port of Nettuno is about 60 kms away from Rome and represents one of the main tourist ports of the Tirrenian Sea. The Port of Anzio is not too far, and you can dock here with pleasure boats. 

Arriving in Rome on pleasure boats or on comfy ships is an experience that you do not want to miss.

There are plenty of national and international navigational companies that connect the various ports of Lazio.

The Port of Civitavecchia represents one of the main Italian ports, both for commercial traffic and cruise routes in the Mediterranean.

The Port of Civitavecchia has connections to Sardinia, Sicily, Tunisia, Spain, France and Corsica.

You can get to it from:
– A1 highway Roma – Civitavecchia
– SS1 state highway 1 Via Aurelia
– SS675 state highway 675 Umbro – Laziale

Train connections:
– FL5 (Rome – Civitavecchia – Pisa) which connects Civitavecchia to different stations in Rome, including Roma Termini, Rome’s central train station. The train is run by Trenitalia.

– Roma Express, which connects Civitavecchia to Roma San Pietro station. The journey takes 60′. The train is run by SeaTrain.

If you are travelling from the Port of Civitavecchia to Rome by train, we advise you to buy a BIRG ticket.
This € 12.00 daily ticket allows unlimited trips in all public transports between Civitavecchia Station and Rome until the midnight of the day you stamp it for the first time. You can buy BIRG directly at the Civitavecchia railway station.

The Tourist Port in Rome is located in Ostia, next to the mouth of the Tiber and has almost 800 berthing places.

Any kind of service is available for pleasure-boat owners and the area also hosts shops, commercial activities and restaurants.

You can get to it from:
– SS8 Via del Mare
– Via Cristoforo Colombo
– A91 Autostrada Roma – Fiumicino

Train connection:
– Roma – Lido is the railway line that connects the station of Roma Porta San Paolo to the Lido of Ostia. The journey takes about 40 minutes and the manager of the service is ATAC.
The Station of Roma Porta San Paolo is next to the station of the underground B line, and the corresponding stop is Piramide.

The Port of Nettuno has also managed to create an important role for itself in the tourist industry and as a navigational meeting point.

– SR207 regional road 207 Nettunense
