The Airport is located in Ciampino, an area which is in the south-east of Rome.
The airport absorbs most of the traffic coming from low cost companies with national destinations, or directed to main European cities.
The difference from most of the “low cost” European stopovers, which are usually very distant from the centres of the cities they belong to, is that Ciampino airport is closer to the centre of Rome.
